Coleg Penybont yn parhau i ddarparu rhagoriaeth, gan ennill cydnabyddiaeth fyd-eang

Yn dilyn arolwg llawn gan Estyn, Arolygydd ei Mawrhydi, ym mis Mawrth 2022, cafodd canlyniadau adroddiad terfynol Coleg Penybont eu cyhoeddi yr wythnos hon. Mae’r adroddiad, y gellir ei weld yma, yn dangos y diwylliant cefnogol a chynhwysol clir ar gyfer dysgwyr a staff yn y Coleg.

Rydym yn parhau i adeiladu ar y canlyniad ‘rhagorol dwbl’ a gafwyd gan Estyn yn flaenorol gan fod wedi ennill nifer o wobrau pwysig mewn cyfnodau diweddar.

Ym mis Mehefin enillodd y Dirprwy Bennaeth, Viv Buckley, deitl ‘Addysgwr Eithriadol’ yn uwchgynhadledd arweinyddiaeth Cyngres Byd Ffederasiwn Colegau a Cholegau Polytechnig y Byd a gynhaliwyd yn Sbaen, cydnabyddiaeth ryngwladol o’i heffaith a’i gwaith o fewn y sector addysg ôl-16 ac yng Ngholeg Penybont.

Mae’r adroddiad a gyhoeddwyd yn ddiweddar gan Estyn yn dweud: “Mae uwch arweinwyr, rheolwyr a staff y coleg yn dangos ymrwymiad cryf ac yn cymryd camau priodol i amlygu a chyfarch egwyddor datblygu cynaliadwy. Mae hyn yn cynnwys llawer o agweddau o waith y coleg, yn cynnwys datblygu cwricwlwm, strategaethau llety ac arferion caffael adnoddau.”

Cadarnhawyd hyn wrth i ni ennill Gwobr Green Gown y Deyrnas Unedig yng nghategori ‘Gweithredu Hinsawdd 2030’, gan fynd ar y rhestr fer ar gyfer Gwobrau Green Gown Rhyngwladol yn derbyn ‘cymeradwyaeth uchel’. fel yr unig goleg addysg bellach yn y byd ar y rhestr fer, roeddem yn erbyn naw o gystadleuwyr eraill yn y byd, i gyd ohonynt yn brifysgolion blaenllaw o bob rhan o’r byd.

Dywedodd Simon Pirotte, Pennaeth a Phrif Weithredwr Coleg Penybont:

“Rwy’n anhygoel o falch o daith lwyddiant gyson y Coleg ers arolwg blaenorol Estyn yn ôl yn 2016. Mae sicrhau rhagoriaeth yn arbennig, ond mae ei gynnal a’i wella yn galw am ymrwymiad ac ymroddiad staff, llywodraethwyr a phartneriaid anhygoel sy’n creu amgylchedd cynhwysol ar gyfer ein dysgwyr i fod yn hapus, diogel a llwyddiannus”.

Wrth ymateb i gyhoeddiad adroddiad Arolwg Estyn dywedodd Sarah Murphy AS Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr a Phorthcawl:

“Mae’r pandemig wedi tarfu ar bethau ac wedi achosi pryder i lawer o ddysgwyr ar draws ein cymuned. Mae Adroddiad Arolwg Estyn ar gyfer Coleg Penybont yn dangos sut yr addasodd y Cyngor i barhau ei record o ragoriaeth fel sefydliad addysgol a rhoi lles dysgwyr a staff wrth galon eu profiad addysgol.

Rwyf wrth fy modd i ddarllen yr adborth cadarnhaol o’r adroddiad, sef yr ethos cadarnhaol, gofalgar a chynhwysol, er i’r coleg fod yn gweithio mewn cyfnod mor heriol.

Hoffwn ddiolch i’r staff am eu gwaith drwy gydol y pandemig ac wrth i ni ddysgu byw gydag ef mae Coleg Penybont yn parhau’n rhan uchel ei barch a chyfannol o’n cymuned. Llongyfarchiadau i bawb yn y Coleg am lwyddiant adroddiad Estyn.”

Mae gennym gynlluniau uchelgeisiol i agor campws newydd yng nghanol tref Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr yn 2025, yn dilyn buddsoddiad £30m yn ein Academi STEAM newydd yn ein Campws ym Mhencoed y llynedd.
