Bridgend College celebrates creative successes at FE First Awards
26/02/2024Bridgend College is honoured to have not only been awarded Gold for its Innovation and Creativity at this year’s FE First Awards, but also to have received ‘Highly Commended’ for Marketing Team of the Year (Large).
Hosted by the College Marketing Network, the event brought together hundreds of industry professionals to celebrate excellence in Further Education marketing across the UK. The College was thrilled to not only have been a finalist in the two categories, but to have successfully secured recognition in both.

The College’s win in the Innovation and Creativity category was based on its ‘Unlock Your Potential’ campaign, which was launched for Skills Cymru 2023 – Cardiff’s largest skills, careers and apprenticeships event. Conceived and delivered by the College’s in-house Marketing Team, the event pitch was varsity-themed and included gym hall flooring, subject-themed and prize lockers, and a ‘changing room’ selfie stand, appealing both culturally and aesthetically to the student demographic in attendance.
A thoroughly collaborative project, the pitch brought together the specialist skills of different teams within the College. By implementing a bespoke IT solution, visitors were able to enjoy an engaging event experience whilst also benefiting from the knowledge and expertise of the College’s Student Services Team, who were on hand during the event.
“The elements of gamification, inclusivity, IAG delivery, continuity of execution of concept, visual merchandising and sense of staff engagement suggests a dedicated, dynamic team, proudly working together to set a new bar for event expectations. This is a true interactive integrated campaign which should be applauded for its highly innovative and creative concept and expert delivery.”
