Cyfleoedd (Careers support)

Cyfleoedd, meaning ‘opportunities’ in Welsh, is the careers hub at Bridgend College. We work with students and employers to enhance careers education, promote work-related opportunities. Cyfleoedd builds upon our wider college mission, enabling our students to ‘be all that they can be’ by preparing and supporting them to achieve, progress and gain meaningful paid career opportunities.

Advice and guidance

We provide free and impartial advice to students to help them take their next steps after college. We can help with:

  • Preparing to write a CV
  • Preparing for a job interview
  • Gaining work experience
  • Choosing subjects or courses
  • Connecting with future employers
  • Finding job or apprenticeship opportunities
  • Gaining enterprise skills to start their own business

Careers Wales Mark

We are proud to have been awarded the Careers Wales Mark for our careers service. The ‘Mark’ is an award designed by Careers Wales to recognise a commitment to continuous quality improvement within an educational institution to meet with the Welsh Government’s requirements that are set out in the ‘Careers and the World of Work: a framework for 11-19 year-olds in Wales’.

Youth Entrepreneurship Impact Report

The Youth Entrepreneurship Strategy at Bridgend College focuses on a number of key areas identified by Welsh Government. These are enabling entrepreneurship, engaging, empowering and equipping students to be all that they can be through enterprise and accelerating student entrepreneurship. The College receives much appreciated financial support from the Welsh Government to assist with this work.
