ESOL – Part-Time
You can study ESOL from Entry 1 to Level 2. We offer both Part-time and Full-time ESOL courses.
Full-time studies take place 3 days per week, usually between 9am-3pm at our Bridgend Campus.
Part-time studies take place one evening per week 6-8pm at our Pencoed Campus. We also offer some part-time daytime studies, but please speak to our team for specific details.

Most ESOL students study during the day time, but we also offer evening classes.
Our ESOL courses include all 4 skills:
- Listening
- Speaking
- Reading
- Writing
Grammar and vocabulary are developed in the classroom and students are encouraged to choose the topics which are important to them, especially in their everyday lives.
To make sure you are studying at the right level, you will be asked to attend an interview where we will check your speaking and listening skills and also set a short reading and writing assessment.
Our part-time day ESOL courses are designed specifically for adults who are starting in English. We start with the alphabet and work forward developing all 4 skills - reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
To ensure you join the appropriate level, a placement test will be conducted to assess your current abilities. Build a strong foundation in all four language skills, gain confidence in everyday communication, and unlock new opportunities.
This course is aimed at people who have arrived in the UK and are now living in Wales.
Our part-time evening ESOL courses are designed specifically for adults who are starting in English. We start with the alphabet and work forward developing all 4 skills - reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

This course is aimed at people who have arrived in the UK and are now living in Wales.
Our part-time evening ESOL courses are designed specifically for adults who are at the elementary level (A2) in English and aiming to develop their language skills. We will work on developing all 4 skills - reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

This course is aimed at people who have arrived in the UK and are now living in Wales.
Our part-time evening ESOL courses are designed specifically for adults who are at intermediate level (B1) in English and aiming to enhance their language skills. We will work on developing all 4 skills - reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Topics covered will include practical skills to help you with living in the UK, such as navigating public services, employment, and daily interactions.

This course is aimed at people who have arrived in the UK and are now living in Wales.
This course comprises City and Guilds Level 1 Listening and Speaking Qualification plus a Level One Agored Work Related Qualification (Equivalent to 2 GCSEs)
This course will help develop and improve your language skills in all four of the following areas:
- Reading
- Writing
- Listening
- Speaking
You will also be working on Agored portfolios to help you in the world of work, these include:
- Creating and developing your CV
- Having job interview practice
- Carrying out projects
- Learning how to communicate effectively
- Improving performance in learning
- Applying for a job
Full-time day students come to college 3 days a week. These classes start in September and are 34 weeks long. Day classes are between 9am and 3.30pm.
Our part-time evening ESOL courses are designed specifically for adults who are at upper intermediate level (B2) in English and aiming to enhance their language skills. We will work on developing all 4 skills - reading, writing, listening, and speaking. A key component of the course is developing writing skills, crucial for effective communication in various contexts. Topics covered will include practical skills to help you with living in the UK, such as navigating public services, employment, and daily interactions.
