Summer Rugby Camp
Give your young athlete the ultimate rugby experience this summer at the Bridgend College Summer Rugby Camp. Designed for young people aged 13 to 16, this action-packed week focuses on skill development, team work, and building confidence both on and off the field.
Whether they want to sharpen their game or try something new, our academy offers a supportive and inspiring environment to help them reach their potential.

What to expect across the week
Our comprehensive programme balances high-quality sports coaching with essential life skills. Across the five days, participants will experience:
- Skill development: Engaging rotation drills and rugby games to boost performance.
- Modern analysis: Performance review and reflection sessions using professional drone footage.
- Health and nutrition: Practical cooking sessions and healthy eating guidance, proudly sponsored by Castell Howell.
- Safety skills: Essential rugby first aid training.
- Inspiration: Insightful sessions with an exciting guest speaker.
- Personal growth: Plenty of fun, team building, and the opportunity to make new friends.
Food and refreshments
We will provide complimentary refreshments to keep players hydrated and energised throughout the day.
Please note that participants must bring their own packed lunch in an insulated bag to ensure food stays fresh.
All participants are required to bring their own refillable water bottle to use at our campus water stations throughout the day.

Animal Care and Conservation Camp
Discover what it takes to protect our natural world at the Bridgend College Animal Care and Conservation Camp. Designed specifically for teenagers aged 13 to 16, this immersive academy offers hands-on experience in wildlife preservation, animal welfare, and outdoor survival skills.
Based at our specialised campus, this is an ideal opportunity for young people who are passionate about nature, considering a future career working with animals, or wanting to develop practical outdoor skills.

Our programme balances practical ecology with essential fieldcraft. Throughout the academy, participants will engage in:

- Animal welfare: Practical workshops focusing on responsible pet ownership and animal husbandry skills.
- Field conservation: Hands-on habitat management activities, biodiversity tracking, and British wildlife conservation.
- Bushcraft and survival: Practical outdoor teamwork sessions including shelter building and primitive engineering.
- Emergency response: Essential outdoor first aid skills designed for rural environments.
- Team building: Challenging group problem-solving games, interactive quizzes, and collaborative nature-inspired design projects.

Equipment and safety requirements
Because this academy involves genuine field and conservation work, participants will spend significant time outdoors. For health and safety purposes, all attendees must strictly adhere to our clothing requirements:
- Clothing: Durable clothes suitable for wet weather that fully cover the arms and legs to protect against insects and undergrowth.
- Footwear: Sturdy boots or wellington boots are mandatory. For safety reasons, canvas shoes, trainers, and sandals are not permitted on site.
