There are many exciting roles in this growing industry, and we offer excellent facilities to support your learning in garden management, garden design and professional landscaping. Led by our experienced lecturers, you’ll learn through a mix of practical and theory. Our students get extensive experience by maintaining our extensive grounds and gardens, producing plants and food in our polytunnels and glasshouse, and developing hard landscaping skills in our purpose-built training area.

This is the Level 2 Award (21650) in the Safe Application of Pesticides using propelled, mounted, trailed, horizontal sprayers.
A practical two day course aimed at beginners seeking to learn the basic skills of Dry stone Walling. Each course is run by a qualified lecturer and will provide sufficient information and practical experience to be able to rebuild a small section of wall from base to topping
Our novice training course is for anyone employed in the agriculture, horticulture, landscaping and grounds maintenance industry and currently operates, or will be required to operate a brushcutter or strimmer.
This is an independently assessed qualification aimed at those who use handheld hedge cutters as part of their work, either in horticulture, arboriculture or forestry.
This qualification is about the maintenance of a chainsaw and cross-cutting trees at ground level. Chainsaws used in aerial and ground work are covered and the work will be carried out in a workshop or woodland environment. “Routine” in this standard means corrective and preventative maintenance which is carried out daily or at regular intervals by the operator prior to and during work.
The course enables you to make livestock proof natural barriers, rejuvenate your existing hedgerows allowing them to put on new growth and improve structure. It ensures protection for crops and wildlife and can provide aesthetically pleasing screens in both domestic and rural gardens.
