Our 2025 Annual Awards ceremony, compèred by Deputy Principal, Joe Baldwin, was held in our STEAM Academy on 26 June and celebrated outstanding success amongst our student body. Principal and CEO, Viv Buckley, delivered a Principal’s address commending students’ outstanding academic achievements, commitment to study and determination to succeed this year.
During the course of the evening, 28 awards were presented to students who had demonstrated skill, passion and motivation for their studies, as well as those who have contributed to wider college life.
Over 100 guests attended the event, including family members, College tutors, College Governors and local councillors, Councillor Gavin Thomas and Councillor Martin Rock. Also in attendance were Bridgend College Fellows, Suzanne Packer and Paul Croke.
Following the main award presentation, two final awards were given to recognise students’ impact at a College-wide level.
The ‘Commitment to Study Award’ was presented to Morgan Ellery, a student who has shown significant improvement over the academic year. The ‘College Learner of the Year’, otherwise known as The Principal’s Award, was presented to Melody Cheung in recognition of her outstanding achievements this year.
In addition to the student awards, Welsh Water was presented with the Employer Partnership Award.
