Town Centre Campus FAQ
As we prepare for the exciting transition to the new Town Centre Campus, we have put together a quick guide to answer your most pressing questions about the new facilities, security, logistics, and daily life on site. Whether you are curious about commuting options, workspace allocations, or the timeline for packing up your current space, you will find all the key details below to help ensure a smooth and seamless move for everyone.

The new campus isn’t just for students, itâs a hub for the whole community! We are proud to bring state-of-the-art facilities to the heart of the town, including:
- Theatre: Hosting local events, performances, and cultural activities.
- Hair & Beauty Salon: Open to the public for high-quality, affordable treatments.
- Public Coffee Shop: A welcoming space to relax, meet friends, and grab a drink.
- Adult Community Learning (ACL) Courses: Opportunities to learn new skills, pick up a hobby, or boost your career.
- Facilities Hire: Modern spaces available for local businesses, groups, and community events.
- Block A: Construction is progressing well, and we will officially begin teaching in the new building in January 2027.
- Block B: We are expecting Block B (on the site of the former multistorey car park) to be completed in June/July 2027, with teaching beginning in September 2027.
Most students will move to the new campus in January 2027. Our Care and Childhood Studies and Higher Education students will remain at the Cowbridge Road campus for the entire 2026/27 academic year. This is due to the completion dates of Block B, which will not open until September 2027.
While the transition takes place, your curriculum is specially structured to give you the best of both worlds:
- Your Timetable: Your curriculum will be timetabled on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday only.
- Cowbridge Road Facilities: On the days you are at college, you will have full access to student services, the main reception, wellbeing support, the Success Centre, and the main coffee shop.
- Thursday & Friday Closure: Please note that there will be no facilities open at the Cowbridge Road site on Thursdays and Fridays for business staff.
- Full Access: Don’t forget, all staff and students are welcome to access and use the new Town Centre Campus facilities all week long, regardless of where your specific classes are scheduled.
Because we are in the heart of town, you have great connections:
- Public Transport: The campus is highly accessible via bus and train. We will provide maps detailing walking routes and exact times from the local stations, alongside approximate travel times from major transit hubs.
- Car Parking: A map detailing all nearby town centre car parks and their locations will be shared soon. The existing car park facilities at our Cowbridge Road campus will continue to be available for staff and students until the end of the 2026/27 academic year.
They will stay as they are for the Autumn term and may relocate closer to the campus once it is completed. More information to follow on this.
The days that you attend college should not change, however, please check your Student Portal, which will be updated prior to teaching starting in the Town Centre campus.
Updated room numbers will automatically appear in your Student Portal. To help you navigate during the first few months, we will send out a campus map alongside a quick guide explaining our new room-naming convention so that you can easily find your way.
Yes. From September 2026, all students, staff, and visitors must visibly display their ID card at all times. Your ID card acts as a digital key – you will need to scan into the new buildings and specific learning areas. The campus will also be fully monitored and protected by on-site security personnel 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We are launching some exciting new food offerings to ensure plenty of variety. Specific menus will be unveiled as we get closer to opening, but you can expect most of your favourites!
Absolutely! We highly encourage our students to explore and support the fantastic local food establishments, cafes, and restaurants right on our doorstep in the town centre.
