Coleg Penybont yn cynnal symposiwm cynaliadwyedd rhyngwladol

Roedd Coleg Penybont yn falch o gynnal pumed symposiwm rhyngwladol Grŵp Cyswllt Nodau Datblygu Cynaliadwy Ffederasiwn Colegau a Cholegau Polytechnig y Byd (WFCP) yn gynharach yr wythnos hon.

Archwiliodd y digwyddiad ar-lein sut y gall rhwydweithiau cydweithredol ac arloesi mewn addysg dechnegol a galwedigaethol ysgogi cynaliadwyedd, arwain asiantiaid dros newid, a hyrwyddo lles cymdeithasol. Roedd y symposiwm hwn yn canolbwyntio ar Nodau Datblygu Cynaliadwy 10, 12, a 17, sef Llai o Anghydraddoldebau, Defnyddio a Chynhyrchu’n Gyfrifol, a Gweithio mewn Partneriaeth i Gyflawni’r Nodau. Mae’r 17 Nod Datblygu Cynaliadwy yn mynd i’r afael â’r heriau byd-eang sy’n ein hwynebu, gan gynnwys materion megis tlodi, anghydraddoldeb, newid yn yr hinsawdd a heddwch, a’r nod yw cyflawni’r rhain erbyn 2030.

Roedd y digwyddiad yn cynnwys amrywiaeth o siaradwyr rhyngwladol, gan gynnwys: Chris Long, Pennaeth Cynaliadwyedd y Coleg; Dr Jennifer Rudd, Uwch Ddarlithydd mewn Arloesi ac Ymgysylltu ym Mhrifysgol Abertawe; Gabi Hentschke, Cydlynydd Cyfathrebu ac Ymgysylltu Cynaliadwyedd yng Ngholeg Polytechnig Humber, Canada; Francisco Urquiza, Dirprwy Gyfarwyddwr Addysgu ac Athro Cynorthwyol yn y Sefydliad Datblygu Cynaliadwy yn Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile; Lauren Saunders, Cydlynydd Bwyd Cynaliadwy Bwrdeistref Sirol Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr; Rory Hill, Rheolwr Prosiect Cynaliadwyedd ar gyfer Partneriaeth Colegau Canolbarth a De’r Alban; a Steven England, ymarferwr ac arweinydd profiadol yn y pwnc ‘Art of Sustainability’.

Trafododd y symposiwm y ffordd orau o gynnwys dysgwyr yn fwy gweithredol mewn mentrau a phrosiectau cynaliadwyedd sy’n gysylltiedig â’r campws, i wella eu dealltwriaeth a’u hymrwymiad i Nodau Datblygu Cynaliadwy ac arferion cynaliadwy yn eu gweithgareddau proffesiynol yn y dyfodol. Aeth i’r afael hefyd â phwnc hollbwysig ac amserol a allai gyfrannu’n sylweddol at nodau datblygu cynaliadwy lleol, cenedlaethol a rhyngwladol drwy feithrin arloesedd a chydweithio ym maes cynaliadwyedd mewn addysg.

“Daeth y digwyddiad pwysig ac amserol hwn â chymuned o arbenigwyr o’r un anian ynghyd o wahanol rannau o’r byd i drafod a rhannu profiadau o ddod â chynaliadwyedd i hyfforddiant ac addysg dechnegol a galwedigaethol. Buom yn trafod ystod amrywiol o bynciau gan gynnwys effaith cwricwlwm, prynwriaeth a ysgogwyr seicolegol, i enwi ychydig. Hoffwn ddiolch i’n siaradwyr am eu mewnbwn gwerthfawr i’r sgyrsiau pwysig hyn ac edrychaf ymlaen at fod yn rhan o ddigwyddiadau’r dyfodol, er budd ein myfyrwyr, staff a’n cymuned.”

Chris Long Pennaeth Cynaliadwyedd

Mae’r symposiwm ar gael i’w wylio ar youtube.

Coleg Penybont oedd un o’r colegau cyntaf yn y DU i ddatgan yn gyhoeddus ei ymrwymiad i fynd i’r afael â’r argyfyngau hinsawdd ac ecolegol sy’n ein hwynebu, ac mae cynnal digwyddiadau fel hyn yn dangos ymrwymiad y Coleg i hyn.
