Prif Weinidog yn cwrdd â phrentisiaid Coleg Penybont yn ystod Wythnos Genedlaethol Prentisiaethau

Croesawodd Coleg Penybont Brif Weinidog Cymru i Academi Persimmon yn Llanilid fel rhan o Wythnos Genedlaethol Prentisiaethau.

Yn ystod yr ymweliad, cyfarfu’r Prif Weinidog â phrentisiaid sy’n hyfforddi yn yr Academi ar hyn o bryd a siaradodd â nhw am eu profiadau o hyfforddiant adeiladu a’r cyfleoedd sydd ar gael yn y diwydiant. Ymunodd Alex Davies-Jones, AS, â’r Prif Weinidog.

Roedd yr ymweliad hefyd yn cyd-daro â sesiwn yn cynnwys myfyrwyr o Ysgol Uwchradd Mair Ddihalog, sydd wrthi’n cwblhau eu cymhwyster Adeiladu’r Amgylchedd Adeiledig Lefel 1 a 2. Cymerodd y myfyrwyr ran mewn gweithgareddau ymarferol, gan gynnwys arddangosiadau teilsio a gosod brics, gyda chefnogaeth prentisiaid Coleg Penybont. Rhoddwyd offer a chyfarpar i fyfyrwyr Ysgol Uwchradd Mair Ddihalog i’w defnyddio fel rhan o’u hastudiaethau. Bydd myfyrwyr hefyd yn dychwelyd i Academi Persimmon i gwblhau elfennau terfynol eu hasesiadau ymarferol.

Cymerodd y Prif Weinidog ac Alex Davies-Jones AS ran mewn arddangosiadau ymarferol yn ystod eu hymweliad a siaradon nhw â dysgwyr am eu profiadau a’u llwybrau dilyniant yn y sector adeiladwaith.

“Mae ein partneriaeth â Persimmon yn gosod safon newydd yn y diwydiant ar gyfer pontio’r bwlch rhwng addysg a chyflogaeth. Drwy ddarparu cymorth cofleidiol a phrosiectau byw ar y safle, rydym yn cynnig cipolwg realistig i’n myfyrwyr ar gyflogaeth. Mae’r dull hwn yn sicrhau bod gan brentisiaid yr hyder i aros a symud ymlaen yn eu crefftau.

“Mae ymrwymiad Persimmon yn hanfodol i’n cenhadaeth o gryfhau cymunedau lleol a gyrru cynhwysiant – yn enwedig drwy brosiectau pwrpasol a gynlluniwyd i annog mwy o fenywod i’r diwydiant. Gyda’n gilydd, nid ydym yn addysgu crefftau yn unig; rydym yn adeiladu gyrfaoedd cynaliadwy ac amrywiol.”

Mae Academi Persimmon yn cefnogi prentisiaethau a dysgu seiliedig ar waith yn y sector adeiladwaith. Drwy’r Academi, mae prentisiaid yn hyfforddi mewn cyfleusterau safonol y diwydiant wrth weithio tuag at gymwysterau cydnabyddedig, gan gyfuno dysgu yn yr ystafell ddosbarth â phrofiad ymarferol ar y safle. Mae hyn yn parhau i gefnogi datblygiad sgiliau adeiladwaith ledled De Cymru ac yn chwarae rhan bwysig wrth baratoi dysgwyr ar gyfer llwybr i gyflogaeth yn y diwydiant.

“Mae ein partneriaeth arloesol gyda Choleg Penybont – sydd wedi’i leoli yn ein datblygiad byw yn Llanilid – yn creu cyfleoedd go iawn i bobl ddatblygu sgiliau, ennill cymwysterau ac adeiladu gyrfaoedd hirdymor o fewn y diwydiant adeiladwaith.

“Drwy fuddsoddi mewn prentisiaethau a gweithio’n agos gyda’n cadwyn gyflenwi, awdurdodau lleol a’r llywodraeth, rydym yn helpu i gefnogi cyflogaeth leol, cryfhau economi Cymru, darparu tai sydd eu hangen ar bobl leol, a sicrhau bod ein datblygiadau’n gadael etifeddiaeth gadarnhaol a pharhaol i genedlaethau’r dyfodol.”.”

Roedd yr ymweliad yn rhan o weithgarwch ehangach y Coleg i ddathlu Wythnos Genedlaethol Prentisiaethau, gan dynnu sylw at y rôl bwysig y mae prentisiaethau a phartneriaethau cyflogwyr yn ei chwarae wrth gefnogi datblygu sgiliau ledled Cymru.
