Myfyriwr Mynediad i Addysg Uwch yn ennill ‘Gwobr Arbennig’ fawreddog Agored Cymru

Rydym wrth ein bodd bod cyn-fyfyriwr Coleg Penybont, Natalie May, wedi ennill ‘Gwobr Arbennig’ Agored Cymru 2024.

Bob blwyddyn, mae colegau’n gallu enwebu myfyrwyr ar gyfer gwobr ‘Dysgwr y Flwyddyn’ Mynediad i Addysg Uwch Agored Cymru mewn dau gategori: Cyflawniad Academaidd Eithriadol ac Ymrwymiad Eithriadol i Astudio.

Yn achlysurol, bydd Agored Cymru hefyd yn cyflwyno eu Gwobr Arbennig i gydnabod myfyriwr sydd wedi mynd uwchben a thu hwnt yn ystod eu hastudiaethau.

Un o’r myfyrwyr hynny oedd Natalie. Wrth astudio’r Diploma Mynediad i Addysg Uwch Lefel 3 mewn Gofal Iechyd yn y Coleg rhwng 2022–23, fe lwyddodd i gyflawni proffil o 45 gradd Rhagoriaeth yn olynol yn ystod ei hamser ar y cwrs, ochr yn ochr â’i gwaith fel eiriolwr brwd dros iechyd meddwl.

O’r eiliad y dechreuodd Natalie ar y cwrs, roedd ei hangerdd dros astudio a’i phenderfyniad i herio’r stigma sy’n gysylltiedig ag iechyd meddwl yn amlwg. Mae Natalie bob amser wedi cefnogi’r syniad na ddylai diagnosis iechyd ddiffinio unigolyn ond ei fod yn caniatáu iddynt empatheiddio ag eraill, gan helpu i chwalu rhwystrau wrth feithrin diwylliant o dderbyniad a dealltwriaeth.

“Mae Natalie wedi bod yn fodel rôl cadarnhaol fel myfyriwr a nawr fel gweithiwr gofal iechyd proffesiynol, fel nyrs-fyfyriwr iechyd meddwl. Dangosodd ddealltwriaeth anhygoel o seicoleg ac ymddygiad dynol yn ogystal ag arferion gofal iechyd yn ystod ei hastudiaethau. Roedd Natalie bob amser yn hollol benderfynol, yn frwdfrydig ac yn hynod wydn yn y Coleg ac yn ei bywyd personol, ac ni allwn feddwl am unrhyw un sy’n fwy haeddiannol o’r wobr hon na hi.”

Claire Leakey, Darlithydd Gofal ac Astudiaethau Plentyndod yng Ngholeg Penybont

Cynhaliwyd dathliad gyda’r Coleg ac Agored Cymru yn bresennol ar Gampws Heol y Frenhines y Coleg, lle derbyniodd Natalie ei gwobr yng nghwmni ei theulu balch a’i thiwtoriaid. Mae’r wobr nid yn unig yn gydnabyddiaeth o ymdrech a chyflawniad anhygoel Natalie, ond hefyd yn gadarnhad o’r effaith bositif y gall cyrsiau Mynediad i Addysg Uwch ei chael o ran newid llwybrau bywyd pobl.

“Mae Agored Cymru yn falch iawn o’i berthynas hirsefydlog a chadarnhaol gyda Choleg Penybont, ac rydym yn parhau i edmygu ei dîm Mynediad i Addysg Uwch sy’n cyflwyno ein Diplomâu gydag arbenigedd, arloesedd a’r lefelau uchaf o broffesiynoldeb.

Yn aml, mae dysgwyr Mynediad i Addysg Uwch wedi goresgyn heriau mawr yn eu bywydau i ennill cymwysterau a chyflawni eu dyheadau o fynd ymlaen i addysg uwch. Cyflwynwyd Gwobr Arbennig Agored Cymru i Natalie May i gydnabod ei bod yn unigolyn trawiadol nid yn unig a gwblhaodd ei Diploma ond a gyflawnodd ymhell y tu hwnt i ddisgwyliadau arferol, i gyd wrth oresgyn heriau personol sylweddol.

Mae Agored Cymru yn falch iawn o ymuno â Choleg Penybont, teulu a ffrindiau i gydnabod, gwobrwyo a dathlu dysgwr ysbrydoledig am ei hymrwymiad i ddysgu. Llongyfarchiadau Natalie!”

Jo Creeden, Deputy CEO and Responsible Officer for Agored Cymru

Os ydych chi’n meddwl dychwelyd i astudio ar ôl cymryd seibiant, neu’n awyddus i ddilyn gradd ond nad oes gennych chi’r cymwysterau angenrheidiol, ystyriwch ein cyrsiau Mynediad i Addysg Uwch mewn iechyd a gofal cymdeithasol.
