Gwobr Cymrodoriaeth Coleg Penybont 2023 yn cael ei chyflwyno i Ingrid Lestrade

Mae’n bleser gennym groesawu tri gwestai nodedig o Dde Affrica, sy’n ymweld â’r Coleg fel rhan o ddatblygiad parhaus partneriaeth sefydliadol. Trwy’r bartneriaeth, rydym yn ceisio darparu ffyrdd o wella dinasyddiaeth fyd-eang myfyrwyr a galluogi rhannu gwybodaeth a sgiliau er mwyn cefnogi cymunedau ffermio gwledig yn y Western Cape.

Bydd Ingrid Lestrade a Louise Leher, sylfaenwyr ‘Inspire Children and Youth’, a Lisle Svenson, Darlithydd yn y Gyfadran Economaidd a Rheolaeth a Chydlynydd Uned Busnesau Bach Prifysgol y Western Cape, yn treulio wythnos yng Ngholeg Penybont. Yn ystod eu hymweliad, byddant yn treulio amser yn gweithio gyda myfyrwyr a staff o ddisgyblaethau cwricwlwm gwahanol, gan rannu mewnwelediadau a nodi cyfleoedd pellach ar gyfer partneriaeth a chydweithio.

Roedd Ingrid hefyd wedi derbyn Gwobr Cymrodoriaeth Coleg Penybont eleni oherwydd ei hangerdd a’i hymrwymiad gydol oes i ddatblygu cymunedau a chyfleoedd ar gyfer cenedlaethau’r dyfodol. Cyflwynwyd y wobr yn ystod Seremoni Wobrwyo Addysg Uwch heddiw a gynhaliwyd ar Gampws Pencoed y Coleg.

‘Mae’n anrhydedd i mi gael cydnabyddiaeth mor arbennig – mae hyn yn fy ysbrydoli i barhau i greu mannau diogel i’r plant a’r menywod mwyaf bregus yn Ne Affrica. Mae’r gymrodoriaeth er anrhydedd hon yn amlygu’r rôl bwysig y mae addysg yn ei chwarae o ran cael effaith gadarnhaol a thrawsnewid bywydau.

Mae’r bartneriaeth a’r cydweithio rhwng ‘Inspire Children and Youth’ a Choleg Penybont yn parhau i ddatblygu a thyfu ac mae’r ymweliad hwn wedi rhoi cyfleoedd pellach i wireddu ein breuddwyd o sefydlu coleg amaethyddol galwedigaethol i greu economi amgen mewn cymunedau ffermio gwledig yn Ne Affrica.”

Ingrid Lestrade, Sylfaenydd ‘Inspire Children and Youth’ a derbynnydd Gwobr Cymrodoriaeth Coleg Penybont 2023

Yn gynharach eleni, ymwelodd aelodau o dîm arweinyddiaeth cwricwlwm y Coleg â Fferm Middelpos, a leolir ger Malmesbury yn Ne Affrica, fel rhan o raglen gyfnewid ryngwladol. Roedd y daith hon nid yn unig yn darparu cyfleoedd dysgu gwerthfawr i’n staff ond hefyd yn datblygu ymhellach y berthynas rhwng Coleg Penybont, ‘Inspire Children and Youth’ a Phrifysgol y Western Cape.

Mae’r rhaglen, a ariennir gan Lywodraeth Cymru, wedi galluogi datblygiad pellach arferion addysg a hyfforddiant sy’n cyd-fynd â datblygu cynaliadwy a thechnolegau digidol, tra’n adeiladu ar genhadaeth elusennol ‘Inspire Children and Youth’ o addysg, cynaliadwyedd bwyd ac iechyd.

‘Rydym wrth ein bodd yn croesawu’r ymweliad pwysig hwn â’r Coleg ac i gydnabod y cyfraniad rhagorol y mae Ingrid wedi’i wneud i achosion dyngarol ac i hybu gwaith a chyrhaeddiad ‘Inspire Children and Youth’.’
