Gweinidog yr Economi yn ymweld â hyb gyrfaoedd a menter y coleg

Heddiw ymwelodd Gweinidog yr Economi, Vaughan Gething AS, â Choleg Penybont i ymweld ag un o’r Biwroau Cyflogaeth a Menter, a ariennir gan Lywodraeth Cymru fel rhan o’r Warant i Bobl Ifanc. Mae’r warant yn ymrwymiad allweddol gan Lywodraeth Cymru i bawb dan 25 oed sy’n byw yng Nghymru, i’w cefnogi nhw i gael lle mewn addysg neu hyfforddiant, neu i ddod o hyd i swydd neu fod yn hunangyflogedig.

Wedi’i lansio yn 2018, ‘Cyfleoedd’ yw enw gwasanaeth mewnol y Coleg ar gyfer darparu cyngor a chymorth ynghylch gyrfaoedd, cyflogaeth a menter. Mae myfyrwyr yn gallu cael mynediad i ystod eang o gyfleoedd i ddatblygu a gwella sgiliau craidd ac i ymgysylltu â chyflogwyr trwy leoliadau gwaith, dosbarthiadau meistr, ymweliadau a mentora un-i-un. Yn 2020, enillodd y coleg Farc Gyrfa Cymru i gydnabod ei ymrwymiad i sicrhau bod pob myfyriwr yn cael mynediad at addysg, cyngor a chymorth gyrfaol o safon, a thynnwyd sylw pellach at hyn gan ei nodi fel un o gryfderau’r coleg yn ei arolygiad diweddar gan Estyn ym mis Mawrth.

Ar hyn o bryd mae’r coleg yn gweithio gyda mwy na 250 o gyflogwyr, sy’n amrywio o fusnesau bach a chanolig i gyflogwyr rhanbarthol a chenedlaethol mawr, gan sicrhau bod ei gynnig o ran cwricwlwm, hyfforddiant a phrentisiaethau yn bodloni anghenion ynghylch sgiliau a busnes.

Yn ogystal â’r hybiau gyrfaoedd a menter ar y campws, bydd y coleg yn agor ‘siop godi’ dros dro yng nghanol tref Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr yn ddiweddarach y mis yma, gan ddarparu cyfleoedd cyffrous i ymgysylltu â’r gymuned ehangach a’i chefnogi drwy ddarparu gwybodaeth, cymorth ac arweiniad am yrfaoedd.

Mae ymweliad y Gweinidog hefyd yn cyd-daro ag Wythnos Addysg Oedolion ac Wythnos ‘Caru Ein Colegau’ – ymgyrch genedlaethol dan arweiniad Cymdeithas y Colegau sydd â’r nod o dynnu sylw at rôl a chyfraniad hanfodol colegau wrth gefnogi dysgwyr, cymunedau a busnesau.

Dywedodd yr Is-bennaeth ar gyfer Dysgu Seiliedig ar Waith a Gweithgarwch Masnachol, Matthew Williams:

“Roeddem yn falch iawn o groesawu’r Gweinidog i gwrdd â staff a dysgwyr heddiw fel rhan o’i ymweliad â Cyfleoedd, ein hyb gyrfaoedd a menter. Mae gan y coleg hanes cryf o weithio gyda chyflogwyr lleol, rhanbarthol a chenedlaethol i gefnogi piblinellau talent a sicrhau bod y cwricwlwm rydym yn ei gynnig yn bodloni anghenion ein cymunedau a’n cyflogwyr.

Mae’r coleg yn parhau i adeiladu ar y cymorth a ddarperir i ddysgwyr a busnesau – bydd ein ‘siop godi’ gyrfaoedd newydd, sy’n agor yng nghanol tref Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr yn hwyrach y mis yma, yn rhoi cyfle cyffrous arall i alluogi pobl i archwilio cyfleoedd, datblygu sgiliau newydd a chael cymorth.”
