Football Pro delivers training masterclass to College Academy students

UEFA Pro Licensed Head Coach, Cameron Toshack, visited Bridgend College last week to spend the day with Football Academy students, imparting valuable insights into player development and performance strategy.

Cameron, who also works as a Leadership and Coaching Consultant, started out in football playing for Swansea City before transitioning into the world of professional coaching in 2011. He has worked for a multitude of national and international clubs throughout his career, including his most recent managerial appointment with Leeds United.

Kicking off the day in the classroom, Cameron talked about his career trajectory, influences and challenges, highlighting the steps he took along the way and the qualifications that helped him to achieve success. He also explored different aspects of football strategy, such as out of possession play, pressing and transitions, providing guidance on training techniques and tactics.

The second part of the visit took place on the pitch, where Cameron invited the students to take part in a practical masterclass and demonstrated in-game best practice. The session not only provided the students with invaluable strategic insights and developed their technical skills, but also helped to embed lessons learned from his presentation.

“A huge thank you to Cameron for coming in and giving our Football Academy students an insightful presentation and excellent training session. Cameron provided our students a taster of what elite coaching and training at the highest level looks like whilst also giving the students key messages and pointers to inspire them and help them reach their potential in sport, education and their personal lives. This was a masterclass from Cameron and an excellent experience for all involved!”
