The facilities provide an extensive range of industry standard equipment, resources and livestock developed with employers to meet the exacting demands of modern agricultural standards and processes. Bridgend College has an array of on-site resources to deliver this course, including 110 acres of pasture land. Agreements have also been procured with 3 local farms to ensure constant access to a variety of livestock and farming systems, and the college is situated in the heart of some of the most productive agricultural ground in South Wales.

48 UCAS points (2017 tariff) [2 D’s at A level]

Mature applicants lacking formal entry requirements but with relevant and/or industrial experience will also be considered.

Assessment methods

You will be assessed through a variety of methods such as practical portfolios, exams, assignments, presentations, reports and case studies.

Continue your studies

On successful completion of the HNC, you can top up your qualification by progressing to the HND. Further progression to degree level studies or gain employment in the sector in a number of disciplines, such as herdsman, farm manager, agronomist, consultant, retail, nutritionist, sales, insurance and training.

You will also have a suite of practical Lantra and NPTC awards which improve employability available to you whilst at college.

Pencoed Campus

Our Pencoed Campus is home to our STEAM Academy and Land-based Centre, as well as our Construction and Sport Academies. This is our largest campus and includes excellent facilities such as a 3G sports pitch, modern equine areas and a sports hall. Our STEAM Academy accommodates teaching and learning for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.

With acres of green open spaces, here you could study anything from Agriculture and Construction to Animal Care, Public Services and Sport.

Located on the outskirts of the village of Pencoed, this campus also offers local amenities and transport links within easy reach.
