We pride ourselves on the support and opportunities we offer our students, and that applies to our staff too. Below is a selection of the accolades and awards we have received that demonstrate our commitment to staff and students.
Bridgend College are delighted to have been recognised in the prestigious 2024 Inclusive Awards. Celebrating its 10th year, the Inclusive Awards showcase organisations and individuals who harness a truly diverse workforce, recognising the significant efforts of those who have excelled in their commitment to equality and inclusion across all strands of diversity. The College achieved the Top 50 UK Employers List 2024-25, ranking at 44th.

As part of the same ceremony the College also won the Social Mobility Project Award, which highlights organisations which have developed and implemented projects to encourage social mobility and community involvement. This award acknowledges and highlights the impact of the Collegeâs supported employment programmes, which enable young people with additional learning needs and disabilities to engage in a year-long immersive internship, developing the skills and confidence they need to progress into sustained and meaningful paid employment at the end of the programme. Employment rates following the programme well exceed rates for working age people with a disability in employment in the UK.

Since 2020, we have been recognised as a Disability Confident Leader. As part of this commitment, we implement a guaranteed interview scheme to encourage disabled people to apply for jobs with us, and to provide opportunities to show their skills, talent and abilities at the interview stage. We also regularly engage with our staff with disabilities from across the organisation to validate our self-assessments as their contribution enables us to both evidence the work we are doing in the college to support our staff with disabilities, and also help us to identify areas for further improvement. This work enables us to continue to create and sustain a culture where our employees with disabilities feel that they are being truly supported and feel that they can thrive.
In 2024 we were proud to have been shortlisted for the Diverse Company Award in the National Diversity Awards. We were the only education provider shortlisted in any category.
In 2022 we were placed 22nd in the Best Companies top 25 âBest Large Companies to Work For in the UKâ, 8th in the âBest Companies to Work for in Walesâ category and 3rd in the UK within the âEducation and Trainingâ category, the highest ranked FE college in the UK.
