Hospitality StudentsMany students progress within the Tourism & Hospitality Department at Bridgend College starting with an entry level course and leaving with a level 5 qualification, and many return to update skills as industry standards develop.

The department also offers the Welsh Baccalaureate qualification alongside the First Diploma in Travel & Tourism, which accredits many of the extra curricular activities students routinely get involved with such as community work, enterprise activities and learning either Welsh or a modern foreign language.

Tourism and Hospitality Students benefit from excellent facilities and opportunities, including:

Higher Education Suite - Students undertaking higher education course such as the HND Travel & Tourism, now benefit from studying at our Queens Road campus along with like minded higher education students.

Work Experience - Hospitality students benefit from training within Seasons Restaurant on our Bridgend Campus, which caters for staff, students and external visitors. This allows students to undertake hospitality roles in a realistic working environment on a daily basis. In addition, students take part in College corporate events such as the Higher Education Ceremony and Annual Awards evening, along with external events such as Cheltenham Gold Cup and events in the Millennium Stadium.

Tourism and hospitality students also undertake work placements with local companies, allowing the students to develop their skills and often secure jobs on completion of their course.
