The outstanding college committed to your success
Sarah Dunkley, BTEC National Diploma in Art and Design student, recently designed a new logo for the Bridgend and District Beekeepers Association.
The project came about when Guy O'Donnell, Arts Project Officer at Bridgend County Borough Council, asked Bridgend College Art & Design Lecturer Lee Thomas if his students could produce a logo for the Bridgend and District Beekeepers Association.
27 students from the BTEC National Diploma in Art & Design produced initial designs which were presented to Sue Verran, Secretary for Bridgend Beekeepers, in October. Sarah Dunkley's logo was chosen and transformed from a torn paper collage design into a digital logo by Dan Haigh, Art & Design Technician at Bridgend College.
Sue Verran, Secretary for Bridgend Beekeepers says "Although there has been a Beekeeping Association in Bridgend for over 100 years we have never had our own logo. We approached Bridgend College to help us with the design.
We chose Sarah's design as it lent itself to be used as a letterhead, on T-Shirts, bags and banners. In addition, elements can be used for the website. Sarah was very professional and took on board the design changes we asked for. We particularly liked Sarah's fresh, simple design and the movement of the bee.
The students are bright, helpful and informative. It has been a pleasure working with Bridgend College; they are a valuable resource for organisations big and small in the Bridgend area."
