Sports Massage Students Excel at Cardiff Blues Rugby FC

Derrick Bonsu, who is studying the Sports Massage course alongside the HND Sports Development and Coaching at Bridgend College, has been offered an internship with Cardiff Blues RFC as a Strength and Condition Coach working with players such as Sam Warburton.

The part-time sports massage programme delivered by Lecturer Gareth Hopkins has proven to be a very successful course, consistently receiving a high number of applications.

As part of the course students are required to complete 50 hours at a sports club, this can be in a club of their own choice, however Gareth has a number of influential links with clubs in Wales and this has provided fantastic opportunities for his students. From this September, Cardiff Blues RFC has committed to working only with Bridgend College and to offering more internships for excelling students.
