Skills & General Education

General Education studentsThe Skills & General Education department offers part-time GCSE courses (English and Mathematics) and AS/A2 Level programmes in Law, Psychology, Sociology and Film Studies, which are not available in local Comprehensive Schools, provided to school pupils through our 'option T', learning skills network provision.

This is along with vocational programmes such as Forensic Science, Environmental and Applied Chemistry.

The department of General Education & Skills also offers the ABC Award in British Sign Language Level 1 although the classes are taught by staff from our Specialist Support Centre.

The department delivers the Welsh Baccalaureate qualification with our BTEC Extended Diploma in Applied Science (Forensic Science), which accredits many of the extra curricular activities students routinely get involved with such as community work, enterprise activities and learning either Welsh or a modern foreign language.
