Hair, Beauty & Holistic Therapy

The department of Hair, Beauty & Holistic Therapy is one of the most successful of vocational areas at Bridgend College. Offering a wide range of full and part-time courses, we receive hundreds of course applications each year.

Many students complete a number of courses within the Hair, Beauty & Holistic Therapy Department and often return to the College to update skills as industry standards develop.

Students undertaking Beauty Therapy programmes enjoy hands on experience in Intuition, the College's training salon Intuition, from staff who are highly qualified and active practitioners in their field of expertiseThis ensures that the training provided is up to date and relevant.

The department also offers the Welsh Baccalaureate qualification alongside the NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy course, which accredits many of the extra curricular activities students routinely get involved with such as community work, enterprise activities and learning either Welsh or a modern foreign language.Hairdressing

Within Intuition Salon they provide treatments to members of the public such as hair treatments using L'Oreal products, and epilation, electrolysis, body massages, facials and nail treatments using Dermalogica products. Students also benefit from work experience placements with local hairdressers and beauty salons, and this often leads part-time or full-time employment.

Past students have gained prestigious roles with health clubs such as Ragdale Hall in Leicestershire and with Steiner who recruit Hairdressers and Beauty professionals to work in their beauty spas and salons on board over 116 luxury cruise liners.
