It's Your Life...At 15, 16 or even 17 years old, being asked to make a career choice is tough going...How do you know what you really want to be, in five or ten years time?
For some of you, you'll just know. Know that you have always wanted to be an engineer, a social worker or a beautician, so it's just about finding out more about the right course to obtain your qualifications. For others, it's not that easy, as the choices appear endless.
There are a number of people who can help you decide on the direction to take. It may be an inspiring chat with friends, a member of your family or a career advisor, or perhaps you discover a career option by chance through a visitor at school or a work experience placement. Take-up as many opportunities as you can to find out about different careers, as students often tell us that something they were only mildly interested in, has mushroomed into an exciting new journey of learning.
