Course Description: The Foundation Degree in Popular Music Technology is an innovative course, designed and delivered in partnership with the industry, to equip students with the relevant knowledge and skills required by the music business.

The course provides students with the opportunity to research, study and practice around the themes and issues based within the music sector. Studying practitoners and implementing their theories into practical music performances will be at the core of the course of study. Students can specialise in performance or technology, whilst acquiring professional practice skills. An important element of the second year will be a work related experience within the music business. A dynamic course packed full of engaging, innovative and exciting modules delivered by a strong team of experts and industry professionals.

Entry Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 A Level or
  • A BTEC National / Extended Diploma or
  • Mature students may be accepted at the discretion of the Course Tutor.

 

Progression & Career Opportunities: Graduates from the Foundation Degree in Popular Music Technology may progress to a Degree course at the Atrium in Cardiff or a professional qualification.  There is also the opportunity to enter the music industry due to the wealth of skills and transferable experience you will gain, which further enhances options for a career path.

 

* IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING TUITION FEES:

The Welsh Government will provide Welsh Students studying on a full time course with a non-means tested tuition fee grant of £4,035. As such full time students will have to pay only £3,465 for which fee loans are available through the Student Loan Company.
