At the Colleges Wales Annual Conference in Llandudno on 31 May 2012, Bridgend College won three awards across all of the FE sector in Wales, our best ever achievement.

There were six awards for excellence by institutions, with Bridgend College winning the highlighted awards:

  • Teaching and Learning
  • Investing in Staff Development
  • Higher Education in Further Education
  • Governance
  • Promoting Inclusive Learning
  • Quality Partnerships

In addition, there are awards for outstanding teaching and learning by individuals with Bridgend College's Sara Davies, Forensic Science Tutor crowned Teacher of the Year 2012 while two students have been shortlisted for the Learner of the Year Award, which will be announced on VQ Day, 20 June 2012 in Cardiff Museum. They are Sian Preddy (Education) and Adam Taylor (Performing Arts)

The Colleges Wales awards recognise outstanding achievement, highlight the breadth of provision in FE institutions and acknowledge collaboration between institutions and other organisations.

This is a fantastic achievement both for the College and the individuals involved.
