The Care & Childhood Studies department at Bridgend College was awarded a grade 1 in our recent Estyn Inspection. This means that the department is 'Good with outstanding features'
The Care & Childhood Studies department offers a wide range of courses from First Diploma to Foundation Degree level, and allow students to study full-time or part-time around work and/or family commitments.
Many students progress within the Care & Childhood Studies Department starting with a Level 2 course and leaving with a level 5 qualification, and often return to College to update skills as industry standards develop.
Students benefit from teaching staff that are highly qualified and industry experienced. This ensures that their knowledge is up to date and relevant.
The department also offers the Welsh Baccalaureate qualification alongside the First Diploma in Health & Social Care, which accredits many of the extra curricular activities students routinely get involved with, such as community work, enterprise activities and learning either Welsh or a modern foreign language.
