Bridgend College wins TWO fforwm Awards

Managing vocational excellence awardBridgend College are delighted to announce we won two prestigious fforwm awards at this year's fforwm Annual Awards, 3rd June 2009 at Venue Cymru, Llandudno.

  • ‘Managing vocational excellence to prepare learners for industry and the workplace' sponsored by City & Guilds/ILM and awarded to the College's School of Engineering
  • ‘Learner of the Year' sponsored by fforwm and awarded to Jessica Thomas, a student from the School of Care, Childhood Studies & Education

The judging panel for each category of award includes independent representatives from external bodies, including Estyn, the Welsh Assembly Government, Awarding Bodies and Sector Skills Councils.

Learner of the Year Awardfforwm's Annual Awards provide the Further Education sector in Wales with an opportunity to demonstrate excellence and share good practice. The awards recognise outstanding achievement, highlight the breadth of provision in FE institutions and acknowledge collaboration between institutions and other organisations.

Mark Jones, Principal says "I am thrilled Bridgend College has received these awards, which is further evidence of the high quality of work that the College is now being recognised for."

Bridgend College was also short-listed for the fforwm Award ‘Effective support and guidance for learners' sponsored by OCN Wales
