Bridgend College shortlisted for Two Beacon Awards

Bridgend College is thrilled to announce that we have been shortlisted for two prestigious AoC Beacon Awards.

The Association of Colleges Beacon Awards recognise and commend exemplary initiatives (programmes, courses, projects or other forms of teaching, learning, advice, guidance or support) across the whole of the UK, and are designed to promote the interdependence of further education colleges, business, professional and voluntary sector organisations to their mutual advantage.

This year Bridgend College submitted four applications to the Beacon Awards, and been shortlisted for two, as follows:

Mercers' Company Award for Science or Mathematics (Shortlisted) - Application submitted for our Forensic Science provision

Edge Award for Practical Teaching and Practical Learning (Shortlisted) - Application submitted for our ‘Working Wonders' Administrative studies provision

Bridgend College will now welcome the award assessors to the College within the next few weeks from which final selection of the winners will be made by the steering group.

The winners will be announced at the 2009-2010 AoC Beacon Award Ceremony during the AoC Annual Conference, 17-19th November 2009.
