Grade 1 - Estyn InspectionAbout our Art, Design & Media Department  

The Art, Design & Media department at Bridgend College was awarded a grade 1 in their recent Estyn Inspection.  This means that  the department is 'Good with outstanding features'

The department offers a wide range of courses in:

  • Art & Design
  • Contemporary Furniture Design
  • Interactive Media
  • Media
  • Photography

Courses range from First Diploma to National Diploma to HND and Degree level, and allow students to study full-time or part-time around work and/or family commitments.

Many students progress within the Art, Design & Media Department at Bridgend College starting with a Level 2 course and leaving with a level 5 qualification, and often return to College to update skills as industry standards develop.

The Art, Design & Media department consists of a team of highly qualified staff who are active practitioners in their field of expertise.

The department is split across our Bridgend Campus and Queens Road Campus with the national diploma programmes at Bridgend and our higher education courses at Queens Road.

The Centre for New Media Enterprise at our Queens Road Campus benefits from industry standard resources including purpose designed studio/workshop spaces for film recording, sound editing and photographic studio camera work, as well as state of the art digital imaging suites and video editing workstations.

Each year, the department hosts an end of year Art, Design & Media Exhibition and Graduate Show, which is an opportunity for friends, family, dignitaries and the general public to view the students work.

The Art, Design & Media department prides itself on its 100% success in placing students into Higher Education programmes.
